Hasetal Express

With a steam locomotive, two historic diesel locomotives, and nine vintage carriages, the members of the Hasetal Haselünne Railway Friends Association have revived the railway connection from Meppen via Haselünne to Essen (Oldenburg). Passenger service was discontinued here in 1970, but since 1988, thanks to the association, nostalgic narrow-gauge railway rides through the beautiful landscape of the Hasetal Valley have been possible again.
